slo-mo melting images
in my brain
dali does a cartwheel
california’s burning
orange skies
smoke wired through clouds
do I hear fireworks
In the middle of the night
in new york
or shots fired again
and again through
cities across the nation
divisions amplified
a march
a protest
a de-evolution
or a revolution
kali the destroyer
burning it all down
to start again
how do we start again
isolated by a virus
minds spiral inward
settling on peace
or spiral outward
to meet the chaos
my hand shakes
as I reach for you
do I dare?
